If the contract is for less than $5,000.00 there are no bidding requirements.  

If the contract is for $5,000.00 or more, regardless of subject matter, the contract must be competitively bid pursuant to the Chapter provisions.

If the contract is for more than $25,000.00 and involves a “public construction contract”, the project must comply with the Oklahoma Public Competitive Bidding Act except in the manner of seeking and accepting bids.  This includes requiring the necessary bonds.

BMA (or other trust authority)

If the contract is for less than $25,000.00, there are no bidding requirements.

If the contract is in excess of $25,000.00 but does not involve a “public construction contract”, the project must be bid pursuant to the public trust act (once each week for two weeks in the local newspaper).  

If the project exceeds $25,000.00 and involves a “public construction contract”, the project must comply with the Oklahoma Public Competitive Bidding Act both in seeking and accepting bids and obtaining necessary bonds.
