FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 24, 2009

STORM SIREN REPAIR

The City has experienced electrical problems with the storm warning siren located at the Lutheran Church.  The problem is electrical in nature and has to do with the units main control panel.  The problem has been causing this particular siren to sound on it's own at different times of the day.  On Wednesday of this week the control panel was removed and sent to the manufacturer for needed repairs.  The time period for having this unit repaired and back in operation should be approximately three weeks.  The City would like our citizens to know that this is the only siren that is affected.  During the time this unit is out of service the south end of town will still be protected with the sirens located at the Municipal Pool and Urban Addition.  The City will continue, weather permitting, to test all of the sirens each Friday at noon through the month of June.

Thank you,

Jim Inmon
