FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 7, 2010

Bids for Storm Warning Sirens: 

The City of Blackwell is currently seeking sealed bids for two (2) new outdoor storm warning sirens. Bid opening will be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 29^th, 2010, in the upstairs conference room of City Hall, located at 221 W. Blackwell, Blackwell, OK.  Bids shall be received in a sealed envelope, addressed to City of Blackwell, Attn. City Clerk, 221 W. Blackwell, Blackwell, OK 74631. Bids shall be clearly marked Storm Sirens. Bids received after scheduled bid opening will not be considered. Bids shall be furnished for one (1) each of the following:

Three phase, 10 hp omni-directional siren which has 132 starting amps, 24 running amps and produces 100% volume at peak rpm 100% of the siren cycle time. This unit shall have a minimum sound circle of 6,000 feet, produce a minimum of 460 Hz pitch and rated a minimum 115 db at 100 feet.

Single phase, 5 hp omni-directional siren which has 127 starting amps, 23 running amps and produces 100% volume at peak rpm 100% of the siren cycle time. This unit shall have a minimum sound circle of 1,600 feet, produce a minimum 460 Hz pitch and rated a minimum 109 db at 100 feet.

Bids shall include all parts and materials for installation by our city and shall include all shipping charges.
