FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 11, 2010
SCHEDULED
OUTAGES IN THE TRAPP ADDITION
In order to complete an electrical system rebuild in the area north of
West Doolin, known as the Trapp Addition, a series of scheduled outages
will be necessary. This is
scheduled to take place between May 18 and May 26. The outages will
range in duration from two to four hours and begin at approximately
10:00 am. Every effort will be made to minimize the duration of the
outages. Residents in the area will each have a single outage and be
notified a day or two in advance via a notice on their front door. These
outages are required to change the high voltage system in the area from
the 4160 volt system to the 14,400 volt system. Dual voltage
transformers were installed in the area during the system rebuilt to
facilitate this change.
While the outages are regrettable, the long term benefits will outweigh
the short term inconveniences. Peak load (summer time) voltage stability
and reliability will both be improved. |
