The Street Department provides proper maintenance of streets, alleys, drainage systems, and sidewalks and signs.  They coordinate snow and ice removal, mowing of city properties and assists other departments that request support.

Fred Harraman, Street Supervisor
Fred Harraman became the Supervisor for the City of Blackwell's Street Department a few months ago.  He has worked for the Street Department over 16 years, in which six of those he was the Street Department Foreman.  He also worked for the City's Parks & Recreation Department for 4 years.  

He oversees 5-key employees in this department incluing Equipment Operators, Dave Zimmerman and Jim Turner, Street Sweeper Operator, Mike Johnson, Sign Shop employee, Richard Jernigan, and Don Pendergraft in charge of mowing and concrete related duties.
