We are seeking qualified applicants to fill a 911 Dispatcher/Communications Officer position in the Police Department. Applications can filled out below.

-This position receives emergency and non-emergency calls from the public requesting police, fire, medical or other emergency services and dispatches the required services.
-Receives radio broadcasts from police, fire, ambulance and other units.
-Provides requested and necessary information to units.
-Determines nature and location of call(s), determines priorities, and dispatches police, fire, ambulance or other emergency services as necessary.
-Receives and processes E911 calls.
-Maintains contact with all units in service or on assignment.
-Maintains location of various police, fire, ambulance and other units.
-Enters, updates, and retrieves information from a variety of computer systems.
-Performs functions as Jailer for the Municipal Jail.
-Duties may include feeding, and conducting searches of inmates.
-Assists the public in the lobby.
-Preserves confidentiality of sensitive material routinely encountered as part of work.
This position involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Some overtime will be required. Although this position receives calls and dispatches for multiple city departments, the position is within the Police Department and under the supervision of the Chief of Police.
